In Love

I'm in love....with Matt Wertz's music. Honestly, I don't know what it is, but I love it. He has a new live album out, which you can download for FREE, on his website. It's wonderful. I think it's the best LIVE album I've heard. You should download it now.

Do it. If you like the same type of music as I do, you won't be disappointed. I promise.

Ten out of Tenn

I got a call on Monday afternoon from my friend, Dan. He told me about a concert he had gone to see the night before in Chicago. It was a group called Ten out of Tenn. Turns out they were playing in Indy that night, and he told me I had to go.

So I called a few people to see if I could find anyone to go. It wasn't looking very promising, but I was considering going by myself anyway. Then at the last minute I got a call and had a comrade to join me for the evening. Yay!

So back to Ten out of Tenn. They are a group of 10 artists out of Tennessee who, as their website states, "have banded together to form Ten Out Of Tenn, a collective of incredibly talented friends who, as individual artists, have released over thirty albums, had song placements in countless television programs & films and shared the stage with musicians such as REM, Sarah McLachlan and John Mayer."

These 10 artists include Joy Williams, Andrew Belle, Trent Dabbs, Kyle Andrews, Ashley Monroe, Mikky Ekko, Sarah Siskind, K.S. Rhoads, Jedd Hughes, and Madi Diaz. Individually they each have their own music and at the show they each played about two of their own songs with any combination of the other artists backing them up.

The show was a lot of fun! It was a small show - probably no more than 40 people there. Very intimate. It felt like a living room concert, which is my all time favorite atmosphere for a show. I guess that's what living in Indy again does for you. :) Although I do have to say the 40 people that were there were not very interactive with the artists. I was a bit disappointed in that.

At any rate, my favorites from the evening were Madi Diaz, Andrew Belle, and surprisingly I loved Joy Williams. I had not heard any of her music as of late, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was great! And she's just as great in person. I got the chance to chat with her for a bit after the show. She was so sweet!

I came home and bought some of Madi's music and have been enjoying it a lot these last few days. I'm sure another purchase will be occurring soon. But I can't do it too quickly. As Dan will attest to, I can't have too much new music at one time, or else I won't appreciate any of them to the fullest. :)

I hope that you check out these artists! And if you ever get the chance to see them live, do it! It will be well worth your time and money.

A Simple Praise

With the move, and resulting chaos, I lost my Bible. I have another one that I can use, but it's not the one I prefer to use. So I have been bummed out about this. I started sending emails to a few people that I thought I may have left it with. And then I had a revelation. I went downstairs and dug through a few more things, and I FOUND IT!

It's a glorious day. And just a simple way I can praise Jesus today.

What can you praise Jesus for today?

I'm Legal

I took the law exam at the Indiana Government Center this morning, and made an appearance before the board members. I passed the test, and apparently the board members were in agreement that I deserve a license. So it's official. I am now a licensed chiropractic physician in the state of Indiana.

Yay! :)

Decisions. I hate making them. What's your advice?

My car needs some work done....almost $2,000 worth of work. Ugh. I need to make a decision here. And with big decisions like this, I suck. I drag my feet forever until finally I just make a decision to be done with it. I don't know if it's always the right decision either. So here I am, dragging my feet, not making a decision, when I only have a few months (at the most) left to make the call. Here are my options as I see it.

1. Repair my current car. Spend the $2000 and just do it. The bad part of doing this is that I'm taking a chance on nothing else huge happening in the near future. Which would normally be totally fine. But I also have to consider that I'm driving over 50 miles a day now to commute to Zionsville. And I can't really just not show up to work one day because my car breaks down. I am now in the "I have to be responsible about everything" phase of life. So it makes me nervous driving that much with a car that is pretty old and that is also not that great on country roads, which is 90% of what I drive to get to Zionsville. The good part is that it's just $2,000...something I could pay off reasonably easily.

2. Buy a new car. I grew up in a family that values having a good, reliable car in their possession. And if it were up to my mom, she would have me buy a new car...even though it means a car payment every month. When I think about this option, I think "Ugh...a car payment every month!? That's why I moved home...so I wouldn't have a big payment every month!" But maybe that is just the reason why I SHOULD buy a new car....because I don't have a lot of other expenses right now. As I was driving to Zionsville today I did think to myself, "It would be nice to have a 4 wheel drive car if I'm going to be making this trek every day all winter long on these country roads." But I just don't know.

So I need help. What's your advice? What would you do?

Andi

For months now I have been trying to get my macbook to connect to my parents' wireless network at home. And for months now, I've given up every time and resorted to using my parents PC. (Yes, I am now a mac snob.) So now that I'm here permanently, I decided something HAD to be done about this problem. So I called AT&T, expecting to not get any answers. I was ready to even just make an appointment for them to come to the house and fix it...even if it meant paying them.

I was delightfully surprised. Andi saved the day. I am now connected, using my macbook, and I am one happy camper.

Andi, if I could hug you, I would.

Home Sweet Home

With all the changes in my life (see last post), many of these are resulting in new things for me. One of those being a new bedroom. And a new bathroom, living room, kitchen, and entry-way are on the horizon. But since those things aren't done yet, I thought I'd post a few pics of my sleeping space. I love it. And it is really feeling like home to me.
